Tiny Town

Architectural & Creative Design

This project was a collaborative design with Tiny Town CA, a nonprofit organization creating a retreat town in the Mojave Desert for homeless mothers and their children. The proposal included architectural design, 3D visualization, creative design, and plans and sections to support Tiny Town’s mission of fostering a safe, nurturing environment.

Drawing inspiration from the local flora, fauna, and landscapes of the Mojave Desert, the design centered on a self-sufficient town with a narrative-driven approach. The process began with selecting a native plant, extracting its shapes and colors, and incorporating these elements into the facades and floor plans.

The resulting designs feature simple, functional layouts that encourage peaceful settings and short-term stays. Each home is approximately 400 square feet, designed for one or two individuals, with plans for future multi-family housing. By focusing on visual storytelling through images and short animations, the proposal aimed to create a harmonious balance between the natural environment and the built space, emphasizing community-driven solutions to homelessness.
